REPORT-BACK ON YFC YOUTH WEEK: We have just arrived back from a few days at Youth Week in Magaliesberg and what an encouragement it was to see almost 800 young people start a new year, excited about their faith and love for Christ. I am always aware of the number of young people who do not have 'positive voices' or role models in their lives...and how hungry they are for affirmation and someone to just believe that they, too, have potential. The overall camp was great and a huge success with a good balance of spiritual and other social and fun activities. The 18 hour drive in a non- air conditioned bus all added up to what it means to be a "Youth Worker" in your mid- 50's!
A record number of 76 young people from George and Knysna attended and we hope to share some of their testimonies with the local church and you at a convenient time to come.
As I watched young people being ministered to, I was reminded why we do what we do ... serving young people with the love of Jesus Christ...and being voices of encouragement to them. What a privilege to be part of a young person's full potential in Christ being realized!
Thank you to all who have made this camp possible.
Philip Schroder - Youth for Christ, Knysna
